Amongst all the new kinds of renewable resources discovered, solar power is considered one amongst the best of the renewable resources. It’s more cheaper and more effective in most of the American households. The American government is fully supportive of these solar panels and hence they are trying to improve its quality and reduce its costs. The government is trying to cut the costs of the solar panels so that more houses can avail them.
Taking this into reference, I have come up with a comparison study about a few ‘190-watt PV (photovoltaic) modules’ which is the scientific name for the solar panels. The three huge brands compared here in this review are: Kyocera, Sanyo and Evergreen.
Sanyo
Cost: $1,195
The solar panels of the brand Sanyo are absolutely mind blowing. They are more efficient up to a 17.4%. This is definitely better than the performances of other brands which are on an average of only 12%.
The company is still trying to better their products in the coming years. They have plans laid out and many scientists and engineers working on the same. Their target is to reach as much as 25% efficiency in the solar panels. This may take as much as ten years to attain, but after that, it is more like free electricity everywhere.
The company is able to achieve this high efficiency because of their patented (HIT) hetero junction with intrinsic technology. This means that this technology allows the solar cells to gain the maximum power and in a fixed area and allows a much lower temperature de-rating.
Firstly, it is necessary to know the meaning of the term temperature de-rating. It depends totally on the materials used in the product which makes it more non temperature de-rated. The solar panels of the Sanyo brand produce more of electricity than the common silicon modules used in most of the lower quality solar panels.
Evergreen
Cost: $1,079
Evergreen’s new series the Spruce Solar Panels are specialized for grid-tied power systems. This works perfectly with charge controllers like that of OutBack Power – MX60. This entire package consists of good maintenance free, water tight, anti-reflective glass solar panels. Each panel consists of 108 solar cells in them.
The best feature of Evergreens solar panels is the low energy payback feature. This means that there is less or risks associated with that of the environment and the solar panels. The environment does not leave any major impact on these panels, and it takes only about 18 months for the product to be back with its full efficiency. The manufacturing process is very much responsible for these problems sometimes
The Evergreen Spruce solar panels produce only a minor amount recedue of about 30grams. These products use lesser lead than the other solar panels due to the lead-free solder present in these.
Kyocera
Cost: $1,085
Kyocera solar panels have a good reputation about its quality. It is pretty much efficient as much as 15% and the company assures a 20-year warranty on the products which puts its customers on the safer side. It also comes with a power supply warranty of 25 years. And all these can be availed at the almost the same rate of the other brand products of solar panels.
